At this time of year we are often well aware of the extra weight we might put on as a result of indulging ourselves with the various christmas meals and snacks available but quite often it is easy to overlook the dramatic effect that your alchahol intake may have, after all remember every drink you take contains those dreaded calories.

‘Burn off’ Christmas with a walk

Here’s a rather good but simple suggestion in this article from the BBC “After christmas lunch just take a walk”.

My family and I do this every year and as we go round each of us has a piece of paper and a pen and we give a score from 1-5 to each house that has decorated the outside, if we all agree that one particular display stands out above the rest then we call at the house and offer the family a small gift of some chocolates to show our appreciation of their efforts, it’s great fun plus you burn off the calories and somtimes make new friends.


The public have been urged to have an active festive break, with a walk on Christmas Day to burn off calories from lunch.
